Fantasy Football In The Blind Abilities League

I’ve been playing fantasy football for 15 to 20 years, mostly playing in one league. I’ve won that league a few times and been runner-up on one more occasion. When I found out about the Blind Abilities fantasy football league a couple of years ago, I wanted in. I contacted the commissioner, Brian, and began play in the league last season. I ended up playing for the title last season, but botched it by not playing a wide receiver, forgetting his team’s game was on a Saturday. Oh, well, there’s always next season, the saying goes. This season has been bad. Our draft was on the same day as a Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party concert with The Head and the Heart as the headliner. It seemed that everyone else had no issue with that date, so I just figured I’d use auto-draft. There was no way I’d be able to hear VoiceOver on my phone while enjoying the concert. I did get two good QBs (Mahomes and Wilson,) but I also got two kickers and two Tight Ends. My second round pick was Melvin Gordon, who would’ve been okay had he not held out. I lost my first three games. Then, I thought, things were turning around when I won in week four. Nope. Injuries got the best of my team and I didn’t win another game. Unlike my first season in the league, no matter who I picked up this season they were bad or got hurt. Unfortunately, the other league I was in didn’t play this season,

I hope I didn’t jinx this episode’s guest, David Cleveland, as his team got beat and he missed the playoffs. Like me, everyone in the league is blind or visually impaired. Listen as David and I talk about using the Yahoo app for our league and its accessibility, other apps we use to assist us in our daily lives, and fantasy football in general. I appreciate David for coming on the podcast and hope you enjoy this episode.
