Independence Hall Blind Selfie And Crazy Stuff People Said To Me

In this episode of the iCantCU Podcast, I talk about my quest for the perfect blind selfie at Independence Hall in Philadelphia while on my way to the Museum of the American Revolution. It should come as no surprise to you that I want a good picture in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. When redesigning this website, Eliz and I went to Philly with a borrowed DSLR to take a picture at the historical site for the front page. Unfortunately, there was fencing up all around Independence Mall, the grassy area in front of the hall, so we had two choices: take the photo from Market Street, a block away, or, take the photo right across Chestnut Street from the building. The Market Street location was too far and showed the fencing, while the Chestnut Street photo was too close. So, the image you see on the front page of this site was taken in front of some other random historical building that may or may not have something to do with Ben Franklin.

Crazy Stuff People Have Said To Me About Being Blind

I also talk about some of the crazy things people have said to me over the years about being blind. Of course, there are the normal things that kids say to other kids who wear glasses, like “four eyes,” but some of these statements go further. Much, much further. This will be a topic I revisit as I talk to more blind people.

New Amazon Link

As I’ve mentioned quite often, I am an Amazon Associate. What that means is that I get a small commission if you use one of my affiliate links to Amazon.com and then make a purchase. To make it easier for you to help me, the fastest way for you to use my affiliate link is to simply type https://www.iCantCU.com/amazon into the address bar on your favorite browser. That will take you directly to the front page of Amazon.com. There is no need to search for a link on any of the show notes pages or any other pages. By all means, if you are on this site and you see an item that I’ve purchased from Amazon.com with a link to it on Amazon, you can click it. It is just much easier to type iCantCU.com/amazon when you are going to buy something. As always, I really appreciate you for clicking on my affiliate links or typing that address in. I don’t make a lot, but it does help keep Eliz in her Chai Tea Lattes from Starbucks.
