Transformation to Competitive Employment Act
This bill is pending in both the House (H.R. 873) and Senate (S. 260.) This bill would phase out Section 14(c) of the Sherman Act that allows some employers to pay disabled workers less than minimum wage. I’ve been told that here in Pennsylvania that wage is around $1 per hour. You read that right, $1 per hour. How can anyone survive on that? If you think this is not right, I urge you to call or email your two Senators and your Representative and tell them so. There are links to House and Senate directories below.
